"The Misadventures History: A parody of Conan Doyle, "The Misadventures of Sherlock Holmes" premiered on October 31, 1983, on WBAI-FM in New York City, continues to air NPR stations nationwide, and is now part of THE COMEDY-O-RAMA HOUR, which airs on XM Satellite Radio's "Sonic Theater Channel 163". The series began as a 1976 parody by Daws Butler (Yogi Bear): "This Here is Your Life, Sherlock Holmes". In 1980, Daws protege Joe Bevilacqua produced two pilots: "Sherlock Holmes in Trouble" and "A Study in Lavender," which aired on WKNJ-FM in Union, New Jersey. |
